DESCRIPTION:134 Branch of Ukrainian National Women’s League of America and\nUACCNJ UKRAINIAN AMERICAN CULTURAL CENTER\nUkrainian American Cultural Center of NJ \nInvites you to \nPlease join us for a captivating photo exhibit documenting Russia’s genocidal invasion of Ukraine.\n\nYES\, Russia started the war in Ukraine. \nUkrainian American Cultural Center of NJ will display photo exhibits that chronicle the harsh realities of war endured by Ukrainians over the past 3 years. Let us not forget and may we remain resilient! \n\n\n“Russia’s Full-Scale War against Ukraine”\nPhotos demonstrate the genocidal nature of Russia’s war\, and its effect on civilian life\, and show the resilience of Ukraine’s civilians coping with this war.\n\nThis photo exhibit was first displayed in the busy concourse area of CT’s State Legislative Office Building in Hartford\, CT where many tour groups of all ages pass through. It was funded in part by the CT Holodomor Committee the Ukrainian\, National Women’s League of America\, Branch 106\, Hartford and private donors. It was created by CTHC and UNWLA Htfd Branch member Lana Babij\n\n“Maks Levin: The Final Photographs”\nA prominent Ukrainian photojournalist chronicled the first weeks of the Russian invasion in 2022.\n\nThese photos\, documenting the harsh realities of war\, were displayed at the Wadsworth Museum of Art\, Hartford\, CT in 2024\, in partnership with the Center for Persecuted Arts\, Solingen. https://www.thewadsworth.org/makslevin/\nUkrainian photojournalist Maksym “Maks” Yevhenovych Levin (1980-2022) was found dead in a forest north of Kyiv on April 1\, 2022. He was last seen on March 13\, attempting to recover a camera drone that was shooting images of the Russian invasion. Reporters Without Borders concluded that he had been captured and executed by Russian soldiers. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posthumously awarded Levin the Order of Courage (Third Degree) “for personal courage and selfless actions shown during the coverage of Russian aggression.”\nLevin devoted nearly a decade to chronicling the unfolding history of Ukraine and his work became well known through local media and global news agencies such as the BBC\, Associated Press\, and Reuters. He shifted to war photography when Russia invaded Crimea and the Donbas in 2014\, and his practice intensified with the full invasion of Ukraine on February 24\, 2022. The photographs in this exhibition capture the first weeks of the invasion in the environs of Kyiv. They are among the last Levin made.

SUMMARY:Prymachenko Paint\, Learn\, and Sip
DESCRIPTION:Create your own Prymachenko masterwork while learning about the iconic Ukrainian painter!\nMaria Prymachenko was a self-taught\, naive folk artist who worked in paintings\, embroidery\, and ceramics. She was born in Bolotnia\, Kyiv Oblast to a peasant family in 1909. She was disabled by polio in childhood\, and largely bedridden causing her to lean into Ukrainian folk arts. Maria Prymachenko was inspired by folklore beasts and Polissya style art\, intertwined with imagery from her expansive imagination. Maria Prymachenko’s paintings were dually inspired by the political struggles and wartime trauma she experienced.\nDr. Natalka Pavlovsky will walk us through an exploration of the works and life of Maria Prymachenko\, and guide participants through painting a replica of one Prymachenko’s works. Supplies\, wine\, and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. \nNatalka Pavlovsky Weismantel is a first-generation Ukrainian-American whose creative life has orbited the twin lights of art and music. She has previously collaborated with the Ukrainian History and Education Center on the Illustrated Carol Project\, which centered on a set of her paintings exploring the texts and imagery of Ukrainian folk carols. Since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine\, she has found herself painting almost exclusively on Ukrainian themes. An educational Jersey Girl\, Dr. Pavlovsky graduated from Rutgers University\, then completed her graduate work at Princeton University\, earning her Ph.D. in Musicology. She is Professor of Music at Rowan College South Jersey\, where she has taught since 2005. In addition to her lifelong passion for painting\, Natalka loves to spend time in the kitchen\, or outdoors (preferably in a kayak\, on a hiking trail\, or in water). She and her husband have one adult son. \nRegistration in advance required. It is a special belt with a bar that you turn around to tighten the tourniquet around the arm or leg to stop the bleeding. A tourniquet is used when there is severe trauma damaging the major blood vessels. It is a simple device that saves the lives of many civilians (children\, men\, and women) and soldiers in Ukraine. They end up losing their legs or arms but the tourniquet saves their lives and they can still see their loved ones. Please donate! $30 is the price of saving somebody’s life. The lives of soldiers on the poster were saved because of a tourniquet.

Різнобарв’я репертуару гурту справді вражає\, вони не обмежуються стильовими чи жанровими рамками.\nУ Серпні KOZAK SYSTEM вирушають і Північно -Американський тур на підтримку ЗСУ!\nМузика Kozak System – це сплав Українського та Балканського стилів звучання\, панк-року та СКА. Кожна пісня – це потужна лірика та вибухове звучання усіх інструментів.\nСтаном на 2022 рік група має п’ять записаних платівок: “Шабля”\, “Пісні Самонаведення”\, “Живи і Люби»\, “Не Моя» та «Закохані Злодії»\, навесні 2022 року мав вийти новий\, шостий альбом із назвою “Земля. Вітер. Вогонь.” KOZAK SYSTEM планували відсвяткувати своє 10-річчя великим концертом 18 травня 2022 року у київському “Палаці Спорту” за участі 18 топових українських зірок\, але війна внесла свої корективи.\nЗ початку повномасштабного вторгнення музиканти проїхали з благодійним туром більш ніж 130 міст та містечок України та Європи. Саме разом із ними з початку повномасштабної війни українці співали\, сумували за воїнами\, ними надихалися\, з ними запалювали та донатили на ЗСУ. За місяці війни було випущено три сингли – “Мамо”\, “Азов-сталь” та “Мольфар” . Фронтмен гурту Іван Леньо з лютого 2022 року служить в лавах Патрульної поліції Києва\, музиканти активно допомагають фронту: як забезпеченням так і концертами для наших воїнів на передовій: під час своїх концертів KOZAK SYSTEM збирають донати \, які потім конвертують у дрони\, пікапи\, необхідне забезпечення для воїнів\, яке самі ж і відвозять на передову. \nНе пропустіть!\nThe door opens at 7PM\nThe show starts at 8PM
