The Ukrainian American Cultural Center of NJ (UACCNJ) would like to thank Brick Johnson and the New York Jets Foundation for their very generous gift of $10,000 to support Ukrainian culture.
The Ukrainian community of Morris County is overwhelmed with gratitude to the Johnson Family for supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian institutions during these difficult times. Now as never before it is important to preserve and propagate Ukrainian culture.
Brick Johnson felt that it is his responsibility to propagate the beautiful Ukrainian culture and traditions so they flourish in the United States. Brick visited the UACCNJ in August of 2023 where members of the Ukrainian community welcomed him. The children of the UACCNJ prepared a concert. They performed Ukrainian dances, recited poetry, and shared their love for Ukrainian culture with Brick. He also met with Uliana Leshchuk, who plays the bandura (the national instrument of Ukraine). Uliana shared her love for the bandura and played several of her favorite songs.
We are so grateful that the Johnson Family and the New York Jets Foundation are so supportive of Ukraine and Ukrainian culture. We were so blessed to meet Brick Johnson, such a responsible, talented, and caring young man.
