Office of Refugee Resettlement
he Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) helps new populations maximize their potential in the United States by linking them to critical resources that assist them in becoming integrated members of American society. On May 21, 2022, ORR received special legislative authority to provide services to Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees (UHP), making them eligible for the same benefits as refugees. All UHPs arriving to the United States from February 24, 2022 through September 30, 2023, including through Uniting for Ukraine, are eligible for ORR and mainstream benefits and services. Read more

Welcome.US and its partners have launched Welcome Connect, a first-of its-kind platform designed to help Americans virtually connect with Ukrainians seeking refuge and start the sponsorship journey together. Welcome Connect provides a secure, accessible way for potential sponsors and Ukrainians seeking refuge to connect, start a conversation, and mutually agree on sponsorship. This solution is designed to meet immediate needs around sponsorship for displaced Ukrainians and can be adapted for future work related to private sponsorship for other refugee groups. The sheet also includes a resource list to assist with identifying benefits and services available for UHPs, both from ORR as well as our resettlement network at the federal, state, and local level.

Sunflowers for Ukraine – Paint Sunday Fundraiser. May 1st, 2022
On Sunday, May 1, the Ukrainian American Business Professionals Association hosted artist Dianna Derhak, who taught almost 100 participants how to paint an original sunflower composition using acrylic paint on 12’ by 12’ canvasses. A great time was had by all, talents were revealed and importantly funds were raised to support a critical Ukrainian film documentary film project about the Russia – Ukraine war, which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this June. Refugee Legal Assistance
Fragomen's offices in the US are offering pro bono legal help to the Ukrainian community currently present in the US. As you may have heard, a Temporary Protected Status will be available to Ukrainians soon and there will be future forms of immigration relief also available.
